My name is Cesare Giulio Ardito. I am a mathematician, currently working as a Lecturer at the University of Manchester.
This is my personal web page. To go back to the landing page, click here.
Previously, I was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Manchester, and before than I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at City University of London, supported by an Early Career Fellowship awarded by the London Mathematical Society, and I’ve been also a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Manchester.
In 2023, I was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (previously, in 2019, Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)).
I obtained my PhD at the University of Manchester in July 2020. I am originally from Rome, Italy, which is also where I got my Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree at Sapienza University of Rome.
Other things I do:
- I have been elected as a councillor of the Manchester Comites, with the Italia4Italy list.
- Since 2017, I am an administrator of a huge community of over 22000 Italian people in Manchester, whose main virtual location is on Facebook.
- I built and manage the I3Italy website, a guidebook for Italians that live in England.
- I am a registered OISC Level 1 immigration adviser (limited to the EU Settlement Scheme) with Settled.
- I built and manage the website of my family sports association All Volley, based in Rome.
Before messaging me about something related to issues faced as an Italian in the UK, you really should check out all the resources on www.i3italy.org, as most common questions are addressed there. If you can’t find an answer, please do message me.
On this website, at the moment you can find:
- An up-to-date copy of my academic CV, and a one-page CV.
- Information about my research interests and publications.
- Information on my activity as a private mathematics and physics tutor.
- Information on my volunteering activity with the RSPB, with Olio and a link to the Italian Settled forum.
- My public key, and instructions on how to verify if an e-signature issued by me is legitimate.
- Miscellaneous stuff such as things I recommend, a blogroll, useful links, and some referral links.
In general, I have an extremely proactive personality , so I always get involved in many different things that interest me. When I am not doing maths or volunteering I am usually hiking somewhere, playing board games or role-playing games, or simply at the pub.
I am a passionate investor, and I strongly endorse the Freetrade platform for any buy-and-hold strategy.
I only have one Twitter account, this one: CesareGArdito. Any other account claiming to be me is impersonating me (be especially wary of blue checkmarks: I don’t have one).
This box is meant as a simple precaution in light of the new Twitter Blue policy where it appears that people can just pay $8 to impersonate anyone.
